| Playa del Secreto had its humble beginnings on the slopes of a very steep ravine just on the outskirts of downtown Acapulco in 1987. More specifically, the site is located just before the Naval Base at the entrance to Acapulco (coming from the airport). The Park Royal hotel chain now manages the property. The site is idyllic with its own private beach, two pools, several restaurants, and all the amenities you would expect from this international hotelier. |
| But it wasn't always so. At first, Playa del Secreto was a fully time-shared ownership property. Over the years, after many hurricanes, economic downturns, and other hotel ownerships, it became a hotel / timeshare resort. The Playa del Secreto timeshare owners now share the site with hotel guests, giving everyone the best of both worlds. |
| Take in the view of the lush surroundings; sit by one of the two pools with a margarita or a "cerveza" in your hand; enjoy the view of downtown Acapulco, just minutes away. The site (very quiet and peaceful) is far enough from the noise of downtown but close enough if you want to enjoy the sights and sounds of a busy city. |
| Playa del Secreto is now an all-inclusive resort. Enjoy breakfast and dinner at the new La Bahia Restaurant (buffet style) located in the main building. Lunch by the pool at the El Pescador restaurant or on the BBQ patio. Dine under the stars at the La Trattoria restaurant located at the top of the tram level. |
| Take a stroll through downtown markets where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, Mexican blankets, jewelry, and more. Take a day trip to the silver mines and shops in Taxco (2 hrs away). Eat in some of Acapulco's finest restaurants while watching the sunset over Acapulco Bay. See the cliff divers or take a city tour and visit historic sites where they filmed sequences from such movies as Tarzan and Rambo; visit the Johnny Weissmuller and John Wayne villas. |
